Frequently Asked Question

I've been reviewing some SIF verification calculations in exSILentia and I was hoping you could advise on how the software determines the failure rate from manually inputted failure rate data?

The probability of failure on demand is determined by considering both dangerous undetected and dangerous detected failure rates. The dangerous undetected failure rate is multiplied with the proof test interval. The dangerous detected is multiplied with the mean repair time.
