Can you please help further clarify “ Online Maintenance”. What does it mean in terms of work to be done on a subsystem (e.g. valve)?

Not sure what the online maintenance would be in a valve unless you have a bypass in place. For a transmitter you could consider the resetting of the transmitter or cleaning of the process connection. Online maintenance would only take place once a fault is detected by automatic diagnostics and you determine to continue to operate with the diagnosed failure.
