IEC 61508:2000 allowed for some simplifications in calculations with regard to the test interval, for example, with a partial stroke test. In IEC 61508:2010, these simplifications are no longer allowed. We suggest people use the 2010 version, but support both options for those users who performed their SIL verification before the change was made.
